Remove console lid from your VES by removing (2) phillips head screws from the hinge assembly.  

Remove (2) phillips head screw from the latch assembly and remove the latch.  Carefully pry the bottom plastic cover up from the hinge openings and remove cover (be careful not to break the clips or holders (they are plastic and are not replaceable)

If you are planning on padding the lid you will need to remove the rubber cover and install your padding 1/2" foam works great, just glue it to the lid and trim as necessary.  If you decide not to pad the lid the leather cover will be installed over the rubber cover.  Go ahead and stretch the cover on the lid and fit as necessary.  

*The second picture shows the optional foam padding and the rubber cover that was removed.  

*The third picture shows the cover being installed on the lid after the rubber cover was removed and padding installed.

Now you have the cover on and fitted to your liking you need to use some adhesive (3M super 80 works great and is available at Home Depot/Lowes) to hold the edges down.  Spray the adhesive on both the leather and the lid itself and stretch and stick the edges down (this is your opportunity to stretch the leather and work out any wrinkles). 

Tip: work from the sides first then tackle the back, the latch is discussed next.

Trim around the plastic clips so they can be seated in the holders of the plastic cover .  Make sure you have pulled the leather tightly so the latch still works.

Reinstall the plastic bottom and install the hinge assembly back to the unit.  Install back in the car. 

You are finished.
