Installation Instructions

Step 1:

Remove console lid from car by removing (2) phillips head screws from the hinge assembly.  Once you have the lid removed you will need to unscrew (2) additional phillips head screws from the underside.  This will allow the plastic bottom to be removed.

Step 2:

Remove (1) phillips head screw from the latch assembly and remove the latch.

Step 3:

If you are planning on padding the lid you will need to remove the rubber cover and install your padding 1/2" foam works great, just glue it to the lid and trim as necessary.  If you decide not to pad the lid the leather cover will be installed over the rubber cover.  You will notice a "flap" on the leather cover, this is used to fit the cover around the latch.  Go ahead and stretch the cover on the lid and fit as necessary.

*The first picture shows the optional foam padding and the rubber cover that was removed.

*The second picture shows the optional foam padding installed on the lid after the rubber cover was removed.

Step 4:

Now you have the cover on and fitted to your liking you need to use some adhesive (3M super 80 works great and is available at Home Depot/Lowes) to hold the edges down and fit the latch "flap".  Spray the adhesive on both the leather and the lid itself and stretch and stick the edges down (this is your opportunity to stretch the leather and work out any wrinkles).

Tip: work from the sides first then tackle the back, the latch is discussed next.

Step 5:

Now we need to stretch the latch "flap" and use the adhesive again to hold it down.  This area is the most difficult area and does require some cutting.  Be sure the seam is even with the latch cut out and follows the shape prior to sticking down.

Step 6:

Poke some small holes in the leather where the screws were and reinstall the latch assembly.  Make sure you have pulled the leather tightly so the latch still works.

Step 7:

Reinstall the plastic bottom and install back in the car.

Step 8:

You are finished.
